Rockin' the Kasbah....

What is a Kasbah?
I just know that it's one of my favorite songs to dance to.
Funky 80's songs make me so happy!!

Logan said he had the best time & it was the greatest dance ever last night. (Only one he's been to so far) He told us he even entered a dance contest...what can I say? The boy's got dancin' in his bones.

And I worked on the clothes behind these guys last night, read a couple chapters & magazines, and rested...

While Kenlee & Daddy ate Skittles.

There was a threat of tornadoes while Logan was at the dance. Made me sweat heavily, but the threat went away. :) Looking forward to a fun evening with friends to celebrate fall tonight!
I'm just proud of my boy for behaving & I told him he can go to the next one ~ he's already excited.

Under the weather & sleepy.

Kenlee's been a little under the weather this week ~ she missed her Halloween parade @ Church today & I'm bummed about that for her! But, there is still Halloween to dress up like Abby Cadabby - just wait until you see pictures!
Logan is going to his FIRST dance this Friday - it's a drop off thing. I'm taking a couple of his little buddies & another Mom is picking up. I'm sure I'll slip him my cell phone for his pocket. :) I just pray daily he's safe & stays a good boy...

I took these the other night...Kenlee is wearing her Biggie's sweatshirt from when he was a baby. I love it when she wears something he wore when he was little! Maybe I'll save these clothes like this for my Grandbabies! (for at least 20 years from now!!)

Max & Barkley.

Cupcake Recipe

Here's a new recipe I found on a blog that I thought sounded & looked really good. I might try to make them this weekend!

1 - 18.5 ounce yellow cake mix (plus ingredients called for in package directions)
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 - 15 oz. can of pumpkin puree
2 - 8 oz bars of cream cheese at room temp.
2 cups powdered sugar
24 candy corn pieces

Heat oven to 350. Line two 12 cup muffin tins with liners. Prepare cake mix as directed but with the following change: Add the pumpkin pie spice & substitute the pumpkin puree for the water that is called for in the package directions.
Divide batter among muffin tins and bake until toothpick inserted comes out clean, 18to 22 minutes. Let cool.

Meanwhile, using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Spread on cupcakes and top with candy corn.

Better yet, I might wait until Thanksgiving for these...I'm sure we'll have plenty of sugar over the weekend. I told my kids for every piece of candy they eat, they have to eat a piece of broccoli! HA!

Addie Kate's Bday Party!

Oh, we had so much fun today!
This was Addie Kate's 2nd Bday celebration. We are so glad she was born!! We celebrated her at the Oak Mountain Petting Zoo!

Here is AK & her Daddy, Dustin.

This is my dear friend, Holley & her sweet girl.

Logan loves Addie Kate as much as Kenlee does!

And what a perfect setting to take some pictures of our little offspring!

This time last year!

Logan's Pumpkin cake he created.

I was looking through pictures tonight...here we were this time last year! It was time for Addie Kate's birthday, carving pumpkins & celebrating the fall.

Here's our tiny little blessing picking one of her brother's pepper's he grew. She seems so tiny here! I wish those jeans were long enough now! I'm amazed at how children grow. I'm amazed at how Kenlee's hair has grown since last year.

Here's my cute husband. I think he's lost a few hairs on top since last year, but I love his baldness.

And my Biggie. He's grown up so much from this picture....

And we got to see our favorite Myrtle. (She & I are the M's...I'm Mimi & she's Myrtle) I can't wait to see them again soon.

This weekend is Addie Kate's Birthday Party!! We are looking forward to that & I know I will take LOTS of pictures. She & Kenlee are 5 months to the DAY apart. I remember the morning she was born... my teeth chattered uncontrollably with nervousness for my sweet friend as she was in labor. :) I'm ready to chatter again for you, Holley. :)

Things I like...

I'm going to just make a post of things that make me feel good. I like to read things about what other's like...so here's some silly little things that make me happy in life.(God, my family, good health are the most important, I just like to mention some simple little things that make me smile & give me chills.)

This picture doesn't give this song much justice. :) I was riding down the road the other day & heard Mariah Carey's version of "I want to know what love is" - it gave me a lump in my throat...a good lump. It made me so happy. I loved this song growing up in Michigan in the 80's. It reminds me of Josh, too. We've come such a long way with love in the past 15 years together. Such a praise! I sang this song like I was her in the car & it made me so happy. My leg hairs are long from chills as I listen to it now. I just downloaded it on Itunes. I recommend you do it, too. :) Do you ever have songs that do that to you?

Guess what Logan & I bought this afternoon that was unnecessary? I only ate 1/2. My butt thanks me. :) I'm sorry, it's my honest post.

Yes, a little Reisling goes a long way. But let me tell you, I'm getting on Amazon to get a book of wines so I can see what kind of wines you are supposed to drink when you eat certain things. I want to be educated. :) I noticed the nice ring that the dishwasher gave this glass in this picture, but it didn't stop me from using it.

I have material wants, but they aren't important. I'm just at a good place & I'm so very thankful.
Now, tell me what you like, because that makes me happy!

A fun weekend...

My fabulous friend, Cheryl, made my MONTH & brought me some fall flowers!! That was the nicest fall surprise I've had from a friend!!

We enjoyed lots of good laughs with friends over the weekend...it's COLD here in Alabama...Kristy ~ it's in the 50's!! I think it's supposed to reach in the 70's this next week, though.
Friday we started the weekend off by going out to eat...that's a treat, just the 4 of us. :) It was fun & the kids were good. We had to celebrate Logan's ALL A's!!!
Saturday, our fun friends, the Lott's came over & we had taco's & had a fun relaxing time.

This afternoon we partied hard at the park for Hayes's 2nd Birthday! We bundled up because of the weather, but the kids had so much fun & I think Hayes had a great time.

Kenlee & little Tanner riding in the wagon. Tanner's MiGi was so kind to keep them strolling!! They loved the wagon ride.

Here is Allie, Hayes, Jackson & Logan posing for me.

Tanner posing...he is such a good baby!!

Kenlee always has a good time with one of her favorite friends, Allie!!

Here is the b'day boy, Hayes...he had a train party & the cutest train cake. He might be an engineer one day!!

This is a cute picture of Mrs. Cheryl & Logan & her Jackson. It was good to squish together today in the cold. :)

Kenlee was pooped. She's still napping, which is why I'm posting. :) She had a great weekend....

As always, my boy is ready for some more fun. :)
