He's gonna make a great husband...

Logan has learned to cook. He got a new cookbook & a Nintendo DS game that will teach him to cook. So far he's made homemade doughnuts & a campfire recipe with hamburger, potatoes & carrots from Paula Deen's kid cookbook.
I'm an awfully proud Mom!

First Hair Trim

Almost 19 months old & I think we're overdue for a trim. Papa cleaned up Kenlee's bangs over the weekend ~ I'm sure it's the first of many hairdo's!
And you know I had to save all of the little trimmings!

4:30 AM

Logan woke up @ 4:30 on Christmas morning. It was really nice because he got to enjoy some toys by himself before his baby sister got up at 8:30! Our family made this Christmas extra special. The kids had such a great Christmas.

Family gathering...

Yesterday we spent a cold afternoon @ PawPaw's house on Logan Martin Lake. Logan & Kenlee have 2 cousins named Katie ~ this is one of them. She is a smart, loving, wonderful athlete & we are so proud of her. When Josh & I started dating (14 years ago!!) she was only 2! Time goes by so fast....
Logan was playing with Paw Paw's dog the whole time & wouldn't sit very still for a picture! Kenlee wasn't loving the dog, so she was happy in cousin Katie & Auntie Lori's lap.

Good friends & new memories....

Well, my camera didn't take good shots at the Christmas Choir concert for Logan, but they did a great job. He was so excited for the winter break to finally get here.
My childhood friend, Kristy, came into town for a few days & it was a lot of fun. We've been friends since we were 3 years old...28 YEARS! She got a good dosage of kids while she was in town & a good time was had by all. Next year we hope to take the kids up North to see where their Mom grew up. I had a wonderful childhood that was full of wonderful memories.
Logan had a buddy over, Max, and they rented a new Wii game & had lots of fun. He's making some memories just like Kristy & I did.
Do you have any good friend memories in mind?

Christmas Festivities

Divine Intervention...Today was Kenlee's Christmas party @ her new Mom's Day Out ~ She's been 3 times & so far loves it. I met a Mom who asked me how old my little girl was & I told her - she replied with my daughter's Bday is May 30th. Well, Kenlee's is the day before...we both had our babies at the same hospital, ONE DAY APART! And we both had the due date of June 7th! I'm thinking a new friendship was born today!
Tomorrow is Logan's Christmas choir concert ~ I will be ironing tonight & getting him ready for that, then his Christmas Brunch with his class is on Thursday. I'm looking forward to that! Our thing to bring is cinnamon rolls. I think I can handle that task!
More pic's tomorrow! Until then...

Time Flies...

This time last year we were having Christmas pictures made! I waited later than usual & we ended up waiting at the photograpy shop for about 4 hours. This year I am trying to enjoy simplicity & use my digital camera & just post them. Kenlee is not loving the camera right now, unless she is taking the pictures, so we will have to wait! Here are some shots from last year though!

The TRUE meaning....

Kenlee did an art project that was the true meaning of the Candy Cane. I guess I had heard this story growing up, but I didn't remember it.

Many years ago a candy maker wanted to make a candy cane that would symbolize the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus.
The hard candy was shaped like a "J" to represent that Jesus is our rock of all ages. The candy was made of white to stand for the pureness of Jesus. The red represents the blood that Jesus shed.

So the next time you see a candy cane take a minute to remember the real meaning of Christmas.
My kids teach me things every single day.

Logan's cheek....

It's much better this afternoon than it was this morning. I think I will load him up with vasoline on his cheeks after he gets his shower tonight. That will at least help with them being so chapped.
Still, if any of you out there in blog world have any suggestions, let me know!

Reasons to Rejoice!

Kenlee didn't have to have any shots today! Not until 2! Yipeee! She is also at 24 lbs! Our girl is so petite ~ I get so excited when she gains a few lbs!
Logan has really chapped or rosey cheeks that are hot to the touch. I smeared them with vasoline this morning & A & D ointment last night...when we pick him up from school, I will take a picture of him & post it. I want to know if any of you have some good suggestions for me! :)
Have a great week! We are off to basketball practice tonight!

New Tradition!

I never thought we would have one of these in our front yard, but here it is!
Logan is thrilled! Kenlee yells at it through the window! You can see it when you turn down our street..it's 11 feet tall! HA!
Thanks, Auntie Kim!!

This week in a nutshell...

Logan & Papa went on a all day field trip yesterday. They visited Sloss Furnace, McWane Center, 16th Street Baptist Church, Birmingham Museum of Art, & The Civil Rights Institute. 6:30 am to about 7 pm. My Dad is such a great Papa to go with Logan. Memories that they will never forget! They went on a party bus, I think it's probably the "P Diddy" way to ride. Flat screen tv's, bar, lights, the works. Here are the pictures from their adventure.
Kenlee & I went & hung out with Nana yesterday & helped with a little knee therapy. Each day is a little better, but she is anxiously awaiting some relief. I know it will be easier once she gets her staples out.
I'm so happy that it's Friday ...just hoping to get some Christmas decor out this weekend. It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week. I'm definitely looking forward to some good family time with both sides of our family.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Beautiful Fall & Basketball

I love this time of year as it gets colder. We are all gearing up for a busy season of basketball, long days at the UPS store, and getting ready for the holidays. Our house is in desperate need of a good cleaning, it's just finding the time to do it. Kenlee doesn't want me cleaning when she is awake so I have to try & shower & do as much as I can when she is napping. Sometimes I want to take everything in our house outside & clean out the things we don't need, then put the essentials back in. Do you ever feel this way? Are you ever in need of a "Fall Cleaning?"

My Mom, "Bon Bon"

My wonderful mother went through knee replacement this week. She is such a trooper. In the middle of all of the pain & in the middle of the night, she would constantly tell me she loves me & is always the most positive person I know. I pray for a healthy recovery so that she & my Dad can enjoy themselves like they have planned. Here are a few pictures to show what kind of a Nana she is ~ unconditional love no matter what. I love you, Mom!
