Sleepy Head

Yesterday was a day I think I bit off more than I could chew. I picked Kenlee up at 1:00 and I noticed it took them a while to bring her to the car...that's because I had signed her up for Stay N Play & didn't remember...I signed her up for Stay N Play because I had committed myself to a little bit later massage IN WHICH I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT!!!! I had so much scribbled on yesterday in my planner - I didn't even see it. What on earth is wrong with me? I am thankful the lady didn't get mad...so I told her I would add 30 minutes to her hour when she comes in later this week. This is not the normal way I do business & I was so embarrassed at myself.
Slow down, Nancy.
Thankfully Logan didn't have homework due to SAT's this week & Kenlee took the most fabulous 2.5 hour nap when we got home. Thank you, Lord!

So after hubby helped me clean up the kitchen, we snuggled in on the couch & that was exactly what I needed to just chill out. Ever have a day like that?

After the Emotion....

Funny how God works...Kenlee got in the car the very next day after my emotion post & said "Mommy, do you know what emotion means?" So I said, "Please tell me, Kenlee"....she said "It means feelings like love, saddness & happiness." Made me want to cry! She is soaking up so much right now & sometimes she says things that really hit my heart!
Through all the rain, the weekend was a good one! Logan started it off great with his all A report card, my neice, Katie, got terrific student of the MONTH, after crazy hours at work last week...Josh had a great weekend of rest, Barkley vegged out with us, my brother had a great interview, just lots of blessings happening.

 This was Friday before school...Coco went with her for Show N Tell...then after school we went to Purple Onion & she is a girl after her Mother's heart...she tried hummus & LOVED it!! YAY!

 We cooked out with some friends & everyone had a great time. Logan rode this 4 wheeler until it ran out of gas, and Kenlee LOVED riding with her Daddy.

Emotion!

It's been a day of emotion for me & most everyone I've talked to! Is it in the air? I'm not talking crying! I'm talking hearts POUNDING with emotion!!
I walked into my office to find this guy! AHHHH!

 He is tiny as can be, I know...but if he would have scurried over my foot while I was massaging, I would have LOST it. I would have either screamed, gone into cardiac arrest, or messed in my britches. It was bad enough he moved fast & it was hard for me to get him out of there - you know they just move so FAST. I wish I had a funky little computer that I could add some skid marks from a tire after "fast" or something like that. :)

Next, I am starting to shop for my honey & I a new mattress. Ours is almost 13 years old, I just won't comment anymore on that. But it's time for a new one! :) HA! But my emotions drew me into the consignment store next to the mattress place & my heart skipped a beat again when I saw this table. It doesn't really make sense, it's a counter top gone bad, I think, but I LOVE it. And the bench...I can just see my little's sitting on it eating dinner. But, I figured Josh would say "Are you kidding?" right away, instead he asked for the measurements. But I think the table isn't big enough for the bench. And these pictures don't look as cute as it did in person. I just thought of the leopard print with my LaFonda Olive kitchen & a colorful funky pillow to go in between the two striped one's & it made me happy! Who knows...I might go back next week, I might not. But I do love it. Not a life necessity, just a want. :) Maybe an emotional offer is in the future.

 Here it is barenaked. Can't you see a funky flower pot in the middle with some BRIGHT RED tulips? Real, not fake though.

 My emotions ran wild when I had Kenlee try on some of her TNT consignment outfits. Look how she posed! Her 5'2 mother is no model that's for sure. I hope she is always a confident little one...

I'm off to bed. Josh is up @ 4 am to get to work by 5 & I love to cook him breakfast, so I better go to BED! Tomorrow I may not love it, but my emotions will be glad that I did. My mother-in-law came over to see the kids this afternoon & she hung out with them while we went to the store together. It's the little things like that - that make me happy.
And even though I don't have any pic's of Biggy on here today...he came home & reported that he will be receiving all A's on Friday & requested a fantastic breakfast for his SAT's again tomorrow. I will take some snapshots of him tomorrow. He is less than thrilled for posing for his Mother. But he's a good boy :)

 I would love to smooch on it right between the eyes! Then I would go into full blown allergy attack, but that's ok! Look how sweet!!
My Dad took this of Biggy's form the other day when golfing...he LOVES it!
I'm so glad he loves to golf...that's a sport he will play hopefully his whole life!

He has SAT's this week so I've been trying to make some good breakfasts for the boy. I think he would love it if we got up early & went back to Waffle House or made a trip to Cracker Barrel! My kids love some breakfast food!

I think I take a lot of pictures of Kenlee in her carseat.
That's the only time I can get her still to pose! Here she is eating a lemonhead...she told me "Mom, this is makin' me so sour!" I think she looks so sweet in the face!!

 During Mardi Gras week, they made masks @ school. Here is Kenlee's....
They even had King Cake & she was a little ticked that Olivia got the piece with the baby in it! But she told me she still helped Olivia that day with a few pushes on her swing. She always likes to help a friend out :)

Speaking of carseats...we are so over this one! It's not comfy for Kenlee & I still think she is too small for a booster, although she weighs enough now. This one here is one of those Eddie Bauer one's & I think it has been uncomfortable since day 1!! Any suggestions? She's about 35 lbs.

What a fun week!

Logan & Kenlee got to spend some time with Nana & Papa toward the end of the week so we could work & besides that ~ they love being in Oxford with them! And! They love their dog, Putter. He was a smart rescue dog that ended up at my parents' house & that was the best decision of his life if you ask me :) Everyone @ Cider Ridge knows he is theirs & he is SOOO loved by my parents!

What better way to spend a morning? Laughing eating until our stomach's could burst & being with some of our best friends! My two got in the car saying "That was so much fun!!!" Sometimes my husband will wake up in the middle of the night & say "Wish we could go to Waffle House!" NOW I know why!!!

 Cheryl is my friend that I could tell anything to & she wouldn't judge me (no matter the subject), we can laugh @ anything together, go anywhere & have a good time. I feel truely blessed to have a non-judgemental friend in my life like her!!!

Don't you know the ladies thought we were nuts taking so many pictures? But they were TRUELY all so nice & I loved going into a place where everyone is friendly, no snotty attitudes, just pure goodness & good people. I vote for Waffle House as restaurant of the YEAR!

Work, Play & More!

This week is Spring Break & I've tried to keep it fun for the kids!
Last night Biggy spent the night with some friends & they are going to play laser tag today which practically made his week! Kenlee started the week off under the weather, but is making progress as the week goes on! Her little cough got the best of her this weekend, but thankfully, she is on the mend!
I've struggled with getting several things done this week; being a fun Mommy on spring break, getting our taxes ready for the accountant, & trying to fit massage clients in between all of this. I have a problem saying no when people have already purchased gift certificates & everyone waits until the last moment of March to use their Christmas certificates up before they expire :) But, first thing is my family before I work, so I'm sure the stress of all of this will pass.
As I am typing this I am listening to Kenlee giggle at a cartoon (it's 6 am - she was up & ready to go early today + already said she misses & can't wait to see her Biggy when he gets home) & Barkley, our dog, snore, so life isn't so bad! I have a lot to be grateful for!! She & her Daddy had some bacon & eggs early
this morning before he headed to work.
One thing I am grateful for is that earlier this week, they came to work with me & I couldn't have asked for better behaved kiddies! I am so proud of them!
When I was done, I weighed them & took a few snapshots.
Kenlee weighed in at 34 lbs. ~ she is my little petite girl - she will be 4 in May.
Logan weighed in at 93 lbs. ~ he has weighed this for about 6 months now, and I think he's about to go through another growth spurt! He's almost as tall as his Mom at almost 11!

 I started massaging EARLY that morning, so we made a breakfast picnic. And brought a movie.
I'm serious when I say they couldn't have been better behaved!

 I really don't know what on earth this little chair is...I'm thinking maybe for a baby - to keep he/she protected from the sun or something? Dr. Jessica has the neatest chairs, one is a ball you sit on, but has legs & a back & is really comfy. This one is for a little person, but Kenlee didn't mind her legs hanging out of the bottom. :)

 Since our chiropractor was in Utah, I took her to the ENT to make sure her ears were ok from her coughing all weekend. They were beautiful the Dr. told us! No infection there!

 Biggy was a trooper as always. He was just happy to have an agenda for the day. He is my child that loves having a plan. And will plan the next plan while currently being on the plan we are on. HA!

So that is our week in a nutshell & we are excited to have some more fun the rest of the week! Hoping your Spring Break is full of fun ~

I'm thankful to God for my little boy that is kind, loving, gentle, full of good prayers & love, forgiving, smart, and easy going.

Today thru Saturday @ Starbucks...

From 2 pm to 5 pm....with the purchase of ANY drink & however many you buy, you get a free sweet treat! Above is what we picked up today & they were super yummy!!

But then I called our hair girl @ 6 pm to see if I could make an appt for tomorrow & they had a 6:45 tonight open, so I took him for a haircut & our Aveda girl gave him the royal treatment, Blue oil, a great shampoo & scalp massage & he came home with this smile....

He's hooked. I worked for an Aveda Salonspa doing massage when I was pregnant with Kenlee & I CRAVE the smell of their products. Either you love it or you hate it & we are an Aveda lovin' group here!!

So stop by your local Starbucks for a sweet treat the next two days & start your weekend of right!!

He Passed!!

I am extra PROUD of my man!
Everyone that has taken this test at his company had 6 months to a year to study & do some hands on training with concrete for this series of tests. The plant manager before Josh took it 6 times at $800 a pop. They gave Josh 3 days before they told him he would take it the next week & I really think they just wanted to introduce him to this part of concrete, testing & being certified to produce state jobs (like interstates & highways), assuming he wouldn't pass both tests the next week.
HE PROVED THEM WRONG!!!

He really put his mind to it & I watched him work harder & study harder than ever. It has paid off!!
This is a big deal in the concrete industry!

I'm a really proud wife!!!

Yep! That's the weather! YAY! Although tonight is COLD, but as long as the sun shines during the day, that's ok with us!
Barkley requested getting Biggy from the bus stop this afternoon. I take him in the mornings, but in the afternoon's he likes to be social & catch the cheese wagon. Sometimes called the "Yellow Submarine" (I think that's what my middle school principal called it)
Kenlee & Barkley were both extra excited to see Biggy today...I don't blame them, he's a cutie.

 Biggy is always happy to have a greeting commitee. I love watching him smile when he gets off the bus!

Biggy has requested spinners on the tires. They have already installed the cd player ~ maybe some Bose speakers next?

 And Miss Thang went to see Peter @ the Perk. HA! Just kidding. (Look on YouTube if you haven't seen it...my friend Cheryl didn't know how many hours of entertainment that video would provide our family - if she had not shown us I don't know if we would appreciate crusty crusts or lip BALMMMM) We had to stop by for a slide & a swing to top off a great weather day.
