Snow in Bama 2014!

This was an unexpected snow catastrophe that threw our state in a complete mess! Kids stayed over night at school, parents & business people just had to park their cars in the middle of the interstate to get to shelter because of ice, running out of gas, some people were even stuck in their cars overnight.
We had a friend that couldn't make it home come stay with us. It was literally such a scary thing for so many people. God bless all of the people that volunteered, gave shelter, gave food, helped others. I am so proud to live in this state. We are unprepared for this type of weather, but we just don't get this often.
I am so grateful to have been home with my family. No blessing went unnoticed.

And the kids got to see snow in 2014! That's awesome for them!! I am SO thankful to have gotten these two babes of mine home. I am also so grateful Josh was home with us.

I grew up walking to school in it in Michigan...but Michigan is so prepared for things like this.
It's such an experience to have snow on these beautiful hills & mountains in the south!

Sunday!

What a weekend! And a long one!
My wonderful seeestor & hubby celebrated an anniversary. I love them both.
And I extra love them because they gave me Katie.

Logan is having a fun weekend with his best friend, Brad.
They are best friends that always make each other laugh. I love that about them!

Kenlee & I are having a relaxing afternoon while her Daddy hunts. Hunting season is almost over. It's funny how 20 years ago I begged him not to hunt, now, I encourage him. It clears his mind & is extra good for his soul.
Ladies, one thing I've learned since 1994. If he is passionate about something & it isn't anything bad, don't gripe about it. Be thankful they are passionate about something that quiets their mind.
Trust me on this.

This has been a fun weekend. I had a really great job massaging on Saturday night, my kids have relaxed and enjoyed themselves, the sun is shining, I have had the opportunity to massage some really neat people this week. I ate lunch with a precious soul, Ashley, whom I can't wait to meet again soon. I enjoyed our conversation so much & want to invest time in this friendship. My heart feels full and well this weekend! What a blessing!

Also, I am gearing up for Valentine's Day massages!
Book yours online!

Friday!

It's Friday & I'm feelin' a little sassy.
A three day weekend!
I've decided that as I listen to my favorite motivational speaker, hearing myself say "I don't have the money for that" or "Wish I could get that" or "I wish we had enough money for that" is the WRONG way to go about setting goals for myself.
Here is what I've learned. Write things down you desire, concentrate on those things more so than the "lack" of what you want. Change up the story. Reverse the way your mind thinks negatively & go positive. I'm not saying I'm positive all the time, I'm just saying, switching up my story in the past few months has really made a difference in my life. I get on a lower vibrational state (aka pms, debbie downer) and I realize that feels HORRIBLE. I had a day like this last Saturday. I don't want to feel this way,  so this is helping me...changing my story & actually seeing the difference in my life & the circumstances that come my way have been delightful!

So many people I read on Twitter slam other people, criticize, give highly energized opinions, yet they never change themselves. That is really what I've noticed. We must change ourselves first instead of criticizing others. When we get happy, other people around us are happier because we are attracting people in our vibration!
Here is where my mind used to go... You can't find a man, change your thinking! You are moody & cranky and bossy, change your eating habits! Pregnancy is not a condition, it's a blessing! Roll with it, enjoy it instead of expecting people to "wait" on you!"
I shut my mind off from my opinions and realized, yikes! I am working myself up over things that have NOTHING at all to do with myself!
Now I think, well, so be it, that is the way they think, their own opinion, none of my business at all. Doesn't effect me in the least bit! I've learned when I quiet my mind from my opinions of everyone else, I lead a more peaceful life, which in return, gives me happiness & abundance & beautiful moments.

This is my first "get with it" post for 2014. I'm thinking as I change, my posts will get better and better.
I'm still posting all about my kids and family, but I'm going to incorporate some things I'm learning so I can see the change in myself.

Happy Friday!

For the love of LAVENDER!!

I am very blessed to have lavender in my life! Here are some reasons I think you will feel the same!!

MY website!! www.youngliving.org/nancylmt

1. Calming

Rub 2-3 drops of lavender oil in your cupped palms, then use the inhalation method to draw the scent all the way into your amygdala gland (the emotional warehouse) in your brain to calm the mind. Then, rub on the feet, temples, wrists (or anywhere) for an immediate calming effect on the body. Great for use in crowded areas like planes or subways to carve out your own personal oasis.

2. Sleep aid

Inhale & sprinkle on pillow.

3. Bee sting / Insect bite

Put a drop of Lavender oil on a bee sting or insect bite to stop itching reduce swelling.

4. Minor burn

Put 2-3 drops Lavender oil on a minor burn to decrease pain. I recently did this after I spilled scorching hot tea on my hand at Starbucks and luckily had my lavender with me. Result: NO redness, swelling or pain. NO sign of any burn. Lavender works wonders!

5. Cuts

Drop Lavender oil on cut to stop bleeding, clean wound, and kill bacteria.

6. Eczema / Dermatitis

Mix several drops of Lavender oil with a nut or vegetable mixing oil (coconut, sesame, etc) and use topically on eczema and dermatitis. I have a dear friend who suffers from severe eczema and swears by this.

7. Nausea or motion sickness

To alleviate the symptoms of motion sickness, place a drop of Lavender oil on end of tongue, behind the ears or around the navel.

8. Nosebleed

To stop a nosebleed, put a drop of lavender oil on a tissue and wrap it around a small chip of ice. Push the tissue covered ice chip up under the middle of the top lip to the base of the nose and hold as long as comfortable or until the bleeding stops (do not freeze the lip or gum).

9. Dry or chapped skin

Rub lavender oil on dry or chapped skin.

10. Chapped or sunburned lips

Rub a drop of lavender oil on chapped or sunburned lips.

11. Hay fever.

Rub a drop of lavender oil between your palms and inhale deeply to help alleviate the symptoms of hay fever.

12. Dandruff.

Rub several drops of lavender oil into the scalp to help eliminate dandruff.

13. Cold sores.

Put a drop of lavender oil on a cold sore.

Mid January!

Greetings!
I'm back tonight, thanks to a little encouragement from my sweet friend, Faith.
We lost my parents' family dog about a week ago to a huge tumor on his spleen & some severe health probs. It's been such a sad transition for my parents, but I am so grateful for the unconditional love Putter showed them. We will always love Putter Brown the rest of our lives!
My sistor & Katie came this weekend to cheer our parents up. I took the kids over Sunday & got some great pics of our three together. I LOVE being together, laughing & happy. It's so good to surround yourself with the one's you love & adore!

I've been busy presenting at essential oil parties. I truly love this! I get to spread my oil love, give tips on how to stay well with incorporating oils, and give chair massage to new and old friends!
I am so thankful for all the oils bring me in my life. I want to keep sharing the good news within my massage practice, within my home, for my friends & family!

Logan had his buddy, Brad, over this past week. They always have fun together. We already miss Christmas break!

Kenlee's been enjoying our wedding china. She had grits in them this weekend, hot tea, sprite, chicken noodle soup. Hey, at least they are getting used.
Kenlee is enjoying her dog, Buddy, Auntie Jill got her for Christmas. She said he'll do until she's 10 and gets a real one. That's only three years. Gulp.
My boy got a good report card. Got a part in the choir production & is enjoying life. I'm thankful for his easy going self. He's a great son & brother.
Here are just a few things I took pics of this week that made me smile.
Enjoy. Thank you for hanging in there with me. I'm not the best blogger, but I love it when I do blog!

2014!

I've been a slack-a-roo! We have enjoyed Christmas break so much! I have made some changes in my business that have me so looking forward to this year!
But here is our Christmas break in pictures! I am thankful for my family, my friends, my massage business, our dog, the gift of life & the beautiful people in it!

I am so thankful I have gotten to see my sis & Katie several times within the last month, that my Dad had two successful stents, my husband was off a whole week in December. My kids enjoyed their break (technically we are still enjoying it!)

And some fun business news!
I have an article in country music singer, Sara Evans blog. She & her sis-in-law KK, have a wonderful fashion blog...http://arealfineplace.com/ - check it out....

but the most fun thing I have gotten to do is WRITE an article in her blog!

http://arealfineplace.com/last-minute-gift-idea/

I am honored, I am in AWE, and I am just thrilled those two incredibly kind, generous and FASHIONable ladies let me in their world! Sara is exactly what you see on TV, nice, kind, happy, a mom to 7, and I am just grateful.

2014 is going to be AMAZING. I'm going to give back just like I have received.
I hope your first week in January is exactly what you hoped for!!
