National Coffee Day!

Josh & I have just within the last 6 months started having coffee in the morning. He cooks it better than I do. :) I never know how much of a scoop to use with the right amount of water. Somehow he just knows.
My friend, Cheryl, drinks a mocha with 4 squirts of fuel in it. My parents drink 1/2 decaf & 1/2 caf. I know my brother & his wife like Starbucks, and I know my sister just isn't a coffee fan.
I like Americano black from Starbucks...but maybe just once a week...the rest of the time we just drink it at home. When I was pregnant with Kenlee I used to drink a cinnamon dolce latte - skinny. Except I wasn't the skinny one. :)
So what kind of coffee do you like?

This time next week....

Our boy will be on his way to 4H camp!
No cell phones, no Ipod's, no communication with MOM!! How will I survive? I know he doesn't have a cell phone, but I would give him mine if he could just be able to use one! I think I need to get over this ~ he's 9. He's about to start making memories that will last a lifetime & I just have to pray that he is safe & smart & will have the time of his life!!
My boy is growing up!

Just...

Sharing some grapes with my Dad.
Kenlee always wiggles her way up on her Daddy's chair. I love it. I know she feels safe with him & it always gets her sleepy. :)

Home sweet Home....

My parents went to Indiana for my Dad's class reunion. They went to all of the places my brother, sister & I wanted pictures of...their childhood homes, our childhood home. Although my childhood was really Michigan, I was born & lived in Indiana until I was 3. John & Jill were 13 when we moved from IN to Michigan. My parents have emailed pictures of cousins that I don't really know...I don't really have any cousins, at least no first cousins.
I've always wondered what it would be like to have a huge family reunion ~ but thankfully, my two kids will have 3 cousins that I can only hope & pray they are close to for the rest of their lives.
Here's a picture of the house my parents brought me home to! They said it was in bad shape. I remember a park across the street, but that's all I remember.

This is my Mom's childhood home, Josh thought this was cool.

This is where my Mamaw & Papaw brought my Dad home to...their apartment was on the upper left!

This is my Mom & Uncle with I think my Uncle's childhood friend & his wife. I don't think they are related :) John, Jill & I have always called our Uncle, "Unk," and he's on the far right.

Here is my Mom & her cousin, Marty, her Mom & my Mom's grandmother were sisters.

This was my Dad's 50th class reunion....he said everyone looked real old, or they had died. :) He was sweet & said he definitely picked the right lady, he said my Mom was the prettiest one there!!

Over the hill & through the woods...

to the Lott's new house we go! Our friends are moving out of our neighborhood about 10 miles away & it's making me sad! Isn't it comforting to know you are just so close in distance to a friend?! 10 miles isn't too bad though...
We celebrated our friend, Jackson's birthday & I took a few pictures.

Kenlee will have quite a meltdown once she see's that Allie & Jackson don't live in their house anymore. :)
Her Mommy might, too!! Our friendship has had hills & valley's - but I know that no matter what the distance is, we will remain friends & I'm grateful to have the Lott's in our lives!!

Here are a few pictures from this week.

Why a picture of the grill?
Oh, just to remind me of the heart attack I had as I opened it up to turn it on & there was a MOUSE in my face beebopping around the grill rack. I almost pooped in my pants. I'm sorry. There is just no other way to explain the feeling I had. Needless to say, our dinner didn't consist of meat on the grill.

Both of these two had new hairdo's this week. Logan wanted a cooler buzz cut, so that's what we did. And Miss Priss needed pigtails to show Allie.

Just to remind me...

When I look back on this post a year from now...I will remember yesterday & again, be grateful. About a year & a half ago (2008) Josh took two tests for becoming a lineman with Alabama Power - passed both & we celebrated as if he had landed this job. Little do they tell you...you may or may not be picked for an interview. They are supposedly having a hiring freeze during this time to top it off..but this is what we had hoped for, had planned for. A year of waiting & hoping went by...praying for God to let the phone ring with an offer...little did we know it wasn't His plan. Oh! And to top it off, your tests are only good for a year. It's so political with that company & we just flat out don't know anyone high enough in the company & so it just wasn't happening. Talk about discouraged.
Part of me thought...why when my husband is so good, so honest, so deserving, doesn't he get his chance? So on we went with our lives...I was a little bitter, I had a girl who's husband works with Southern Company tell me I could come to their play dates when he got hired on...As if we weren't good enough to come to their playdates? That's not my idea of people I want to surround myself with anyway.
So this past month Josh has gone on about 3 different interviews & tests with a great company & yesterday he got a call with an offer. This is God's doing - not ours. We will constantly remind ourselves of that. It has better benefits & more pay than Alabama Power - which will constantly remind me...Keep my faith in God. It is not our plan, but His.
So our journey is just beginning & for that I am grateful.

Not too bad!!

Walking her catwalk...(don't worry, the leopard panels in the background are going far away soon...I'm painting that room SPICE.)

I'm not usually one to find a bargain...
I got this little outfit for Kenlee at the beach for about $8.00!~
I wish they made a size 28 month old jeans for girls :) 18-24 month fit good in the waist, but are too short. 2T's are just way too long.
I need to learn to sew!

Monkeys....

Kenlee's class is the "Monkey" class. So she wore a monkey on her back that said her name. Most of the kids were in sweet little smocked outfits that had monkey's on them with their name monogrammed & our girl got to choose her outfit...she chose her pink Target dress. She wanted to wear her green crocs that are shaped like crocodiles, but I convinced her to wear her peep toe'd sandals that looked cute. I guess I need to get in the groove with the smocked look ~ but for now, I think I'll let our girl create her own fashion sense!!

I already miss the long weekend!~

Auntie Jill blinked. :)

This is what Nana & Papa would look like if they won the lottery. :)

Our little Boogier's.

Doesn't Bon Bon look great 4 weeks post surgery?!

First day back to school for Kenlee....so today was hectic. The first thing she said this morning, "Mommy, I want to stay home, I don't want to go to school" :) Uhhh. You can't play hookie when you're two, Kenlee!! So we fed her breakfast & she was much happier & ready to go.
I didn't finish my post last night...we ran out of time before bed, so I have to post more beach pictures. Katie & Logan got boogie boards & had the best time. Logan said it was one of his favorite beach trips ever! Papa let them spend lots of time in the water while Mom & I would take Kenlee to the pool & up for a nap. I just love being with my sister & family - there are no other words!!

Long weekend...

I have a ton of pictures, but for the lack of time tonight, I'm just going to post some favorites. :) I loved being with my family @ the beach.

It's been way too long...

Since Kenlee & Addie Kate played together. But today they had a good time. They hid in the closet, played in Kenlee's kitchen & went for a wagon ride. Addie Kate will be two soon, these girls are growing up so fast.

Kenlee had a haircut around noon today... you can't really tell though, just a trim. :) We are working to let her bangs grow out so she can put it behind her ears!

Her new favorite thing is hiding in our pantry. She says "Don't come in here & get me" ~ But she wants her brother to find her.

And as always, Logan played with the girls today & anxiously awaits lots of fun with his cousin this weekend.
