Girls Vs. Boys

Kenlee told me this morning that girls can't eat apples because they are for boys but grapes are for girls. She's also been calling me "Sweetie" ~ I think she must get that from school or church b/c I am not a "sweetie or honey" caller :) She cracks me up! We just signed her up for fall school & I'm so excited, they will teach her a lot of things she needs to know :)
We played outside yesterday & our neighbors came by. They are having work done on their house & Kenlee really enjoyed playing with Barrett. Isn't he a doll?

Logan started playing chess with the school, so he had to be there early this morning. He tried teaching me, but my brain didn't want to grasp it. He & Josh have battled a couple times. At least it's good exercise for his brain. :) We have a basketball game on Saturday & pictures. He's really excited & he's playing with some really nice kids & I really am enjoying getting to know some of the Mom's!

That's our lives in a nutshell this week. Josh has started night school & is getting his HVAC certification & contractor's license for commercial & residential heating & cooling. I'm so proud of him. He's doing good on tests & is working really hard. He can do anything with his hands ~ and the past two summer's we've spent almost $800 on getting our unit fixed...he figured up what the guy had to spend on it both times he came out & it averaged $30 each time for supplies. Pitiful, huh?

A quick little post.

Update on Bon Bon...she did have some blockage, which they are putting her on med's (cholestrol) for to see if that might help - please keep praying with me though! She will see a neurologist next month to see what has caused her little eye episodes, and since her mom & grandmother had strokes, I'm really hoping those little episodes weren't mini one's. I'm really praying for good health for my Mom - just as anyone would do...I love her so much!
My sister told me of a friend who is right around my sister's age (Lovie, I won't say it) - she has a almost 12 year old (my neice Katie's friend) and a 3 year old. She has breast cancer and she is here in B'ham @ UAB - it's spread to her brain & she has been given 2 months to live. I don't know her personally, but my sis & I had a good cry on the phone today & we are both praying for her...her name is Jodee Giermanski - she has a site on Caring Bridge that I joined today. She & her husband haven't told the children yet. She is a Christian - my sister said they are such wonderful Godly people & are finding lots of strength through Him - please join me in praying for her!! I can't imagine how they are feeling right now!

I will get back to taking pictures & posting more memories soon, our lives have been in fast forward lately, do you feel that way?

Oh! I know my sister would love this picture of her. But I had to show you the AWESOME SCARF my Mom knitted for each of us. It was in a Dillard's box & that is where I thought mine came from! She did so good that I might just set her up on Etsy!! I know Jill & I will treasure these scarves forever!! My mom is working on a black one for my Dad - he's a really stylish Papa!

Praying for my Mom tonight!

This is my Uncle, Mom & Logan ~
Tomorrow my Mom has to have an angiogram on her carotid artery & my prayer is that it's clear as they read the test! She's had a couple strange episodes with her eyes, so they want to check this out just to make sure she doesn't have any narrowing.
We've started going to a different church that we REALLY feel at home at. Logan LOVES the AWANA'S program, we have really met some wonderful people & this is just what our family needed. Lately I've really been praying specifically & that has just occured to me since we've been going to this church - we've had some great lessons learned lately there. I always know God hears us, but HE knows each specific thing better than we do, so it's OK to mention that to Him. After all, our hairs on our head are even numbered :)
I'm rambling on, but I'm just asking my friends that read (that may be only 1, who knows!!) to pray for her, too. And I thank you from my heart :)

A little piece of me!

http://www.southernpineschiro.com/doctor/chiropractor/4L/pelham-chiropractor/massage-therapy.htm

Check out the Southern Pines Chiropractic Center website!
I don't quite know how to just let you click on this & it take you there...so you'll have to do it the old fashioned way. :)
Dr. Jessica wanted me to write a little bio & put it on her site, so that's what I did! She's really helped my family, and I am happy to be a part of her practice.
I found this on her website & not growing up getting adjusted....I think this sums up what chiropractic has meant to the 4 of us....
Natural. Simply put, chiropractic care doesn’t add chemicals or foreign substances to your body. And chiropractic care doesn’t remove parts or take things out. Instead, chiropractic care seeks to restore proper control and regulation of your body so health can return, naturally.

I still immunize our two...I don't like it, but I do it. This has just really improved Logan's health over the past 2 years, growing up with croup, this has been something that has totally boosted his immune system. And Kenlee, it totally fixed her reflux as a baby & she has had really only 1 ear infection (true infection) so far in almost 3 years.
Anyone who books in January gets $10 off a 1 hour massage if they mention this article! Regular hourly rate is $70.

A Sunday Post...

I haven't taken many pictures lately, or had much to post about....but I figured I could come up with something while Kenlee naps this afternoon! Logan & Josh went hunting after church & so us girls are just hanging out.

My sweet girl.

Logan helping his sister make handprints.
We're still painting around here...Kenlee is totally addicted. She can do this for hours & I think it's so good for her brain!

Kenlee used the potty at school last week & didn't wet any pull ups...so that was a milestone! At home she wears big girl panties, but I haven't done that to the teachers yet, in case she forgets! We're about to register for 3K!! I remember doing this for Logan when we moved here! Now he will be 10! Time is flying by & it seems the second baby grows up more quickly than the first!

Logan has been playing basketball & had all A's this report card & one B...I tell him that he's already smarter than I ever will be so that's good for him :) He likes to guard in basketball & his defense is hilarious. I didn't think he would be aggressive since he's pretty laid back, but he is doing great! It's so much fun to watch.

I have a prayer request for anyone that is reading this! My mom is having tests on her carotid artery in the next week or two. She's had a couple episodes of one side of her eye losing vision for a just a second & she gets a little queezy..so they want to look at her artery in her neck & see if it's narrowed at all. They can do a lot if it is..but I'm praying it will be clear when she goes. And that she won't have anymore of these little episodes. I just love her so!

All of my continuing educations are due & my liability insurance & also my national certification. :) FUN! So I will spend this week getting all of my paperwork ready & I really am excited about the next 4 years of massage. I had a great spa day last week (I was by myself for about 4.5 hours!! YIPEEEEE!) and it always inspires me to try new types of massages, and also makes me glad to keep on helping people & giving them an hour of what can totally help & renew them. It's so good for you...good for your circulation, sleep habits, blood pressure, anxiety, muscle aches & tension, pregnancy, infertility, TMJ disfuncion, Fibromyalgia..it can just help you so much. I wish everyone would try it even once...and it's not because I am a licensed massage therapist...it's because it makes you feel fantastic & is so good for you.

So do yourself a favor & go get a massage!!!

Cute Girls.

These two cuties had some fun girl time tonight & so did their Mommy's!

How do you like that static?!

Oh! Look at Pioneer Woman's blog...she is donating $ for each comment left to Haiti relief funds. I'm donating $10 to Compassion.com's disaster relief fund. Not much, but if everyone gives a little, it can turn into so much. I've never helped with a disaster before. :) It's time. I'm almost 33!

And baby makes 4!

Oh gosh, not us :) There's already 4 of us.

I took this picture off of Layne's blog...this sweet Mommy is having baby #2 today, so I wanted her to know she is in our prayers!
Layne was with Josh the first time he came over to my house...her family loved him unconditionally - always making him feel like he was one of theirs.
Layne's Dad took Josh under his wing & always made sure he had a place to hunt or fish growing up. I don't think he would trade anything for his memories with Donnie McClellan.

And speaking of the two that make us four...
Our latest hobby we must do around here 24/7, is finger painting! Sometimes there is a 10 minute meltdown from a certain little princess if we don't do it!
Check it out!

And this handsome boy is doing good in Basketball. He looks really tall to me in this picture, but he's actually one of the shorter one's on the team. Wonder who he gets that from?
He's in the middle in the blue.

I'm so proud of him ... his latest thing at the ripe age of 9.5 is lifting tiny little weights. :) This better be the only type of 6 pack he has :)

* Please Pray....this is the 3rd time I've updated one post. :)
My sweet friend, Jessica, & her hubby have found out the news of his third....yes, I repeat 3RD deployment to Iraq for our country. Pray for them, for their family, for their children, for their hope, faith & health as they deal with this news.

I just keep thinking everyday when I hear things like this....
"Faith is being sure of what we hope for & certain of what we do not see"

KID FREE TONIGHT!

My parents are watching our little lovie's tonight! I miss them already! But we're gonna have a hot date & enjoy each other's company. I've got the 80's music on & I'm about to clean before Josh gets in from the woods & then we'll go out to eat.

But I miss these two. Can't wait to see them tomorrow.
I'm praying that they have a fun, warm night full of laughs with Nana & Papa!

What if this was your backyard?

That would be my husband & son's dream come true!!
Kenlee & I would love it due to the massive amounts of hot chocolate we could drink :)
No school tomorrow due to the threat of snow! That's what we love about the South! And I think the grocery stores love it, too!
Stay warm.

A good read....

Oh my goodness...this blog made me fall in love with my husband all over again.
Please read The Pioneer Woman's (to the right) love story of her falling in love with her Marlboro Man ~ Josh & I talked tonight about how we've "Dated" since 1994...I am totally reminiscing about the beginning of our love thanks to her blog.

~ So do your relationship a favor & take a look at her amazing blog (Found courtesy of my friend, Erica!!)

Back to reality!

I wouldn't trade a thing for this Christmas vacation. I told several friends today it felt as if the vacation was a whole summer long. :) 6:30 will arrive all too early in the morning for my little's...but we'll survive. Logan is already looking forward to Spring Break & reminscing on these sweet memories from Christmas...

On a colder note...I walked tonight. BRRRRRR. That's all I can say. Thankfully, Logan's Ipod ran out of battery after about 6 songs, so it was time for me to come in :) It felt so good to get some exercise, though.
Back to massaging, school, basketball practice, adjustments, grocery store, etc. tomorrow. I'm so thankful for December & it's wonderful memories.

A weekend post & #200....

We celebrated Katie's 11th birthday this weekend with family & had a GREAT time!! 11 years ago I got to watch as she made her arrival into this world (scared me to death, but didn't make me not have kids - about a year & 1/2 later I was in almost the same room having Logan :) ) and I have loved watching her grow up. We missed my brother & his family, but we had a Full Moon kind of birthday party for her since she loves that place & a horse cake since she got a horse a few months back. She & Logan have entertained themselves the past week & didn't argue, laughed constantly & even kept Kenlee entertained from time to time.
We loved having you with us, Myrtle.

Their transition shades make them look like movie stars :)

Kenlee with Logan's old DS pretending to play & Katie with her DSI ~ relaxing on the couch.

Katie liked Logan's rip rider 360 so much, we searched all of the Target's in Bham & finally found one :)

Kenlee loving her new Scooter from Nana & Papa!!

We had a pancake celebration for her yesterday in honor of her B'day.

Dad & Jill

Kenlee & Nana relaxing

Kenlee was excited to dig into that cake with Myrtle.

Two cuties.

Logan, Uncle Shang & Josh waiting on cake.

Kenlee was slick & had found a long back scratcher that looked like a fork & stuck that baby in the cake for some icing. :)

Hope your first week in January is a fabulous one!
